The Sustainable Development Program serves as a university-wide resource for those interested in all aspects of sustainability by providing research funding notifications; news and events postings; facilitating meetings, seminars, and workshops; maintaining an archive of references, reports, and links related to sustainability; and assisting in team building to pursue external research funding.

A Resource......

sd3 The Sustainable Development Program provides a forum for those with interests in sustainability to meet, exchange information, and network. This web site provides information on and links to existing programs in the general area of sustainable development at Texas A&M University. At present, The Sustainable Development Program oversees the Sustainable Coastal Margins Program (SCMP) and the International ALERT Federation (IAF). To manage natural systems, one must be able to understand how they work. This knowledge comes from the study of present-day natural and human built systems as well as deciphering earth's history to understand how systems have responded to change and stressors in the past. Sustainable Development Programs bring together faculty, researchers, and students with common interests to work together in ways not usually pursued. The portfolio of projects and programs is, by its nature, interdisciplinary and, in most instances, international in scope.
